i’m in san francisco for the weekend, visiting family and hanging out. i come here pretty often and always forget how cool this city is. its all about density, man. when you only have a few miles to build a city on, everything becomes concentrated. this could seem kind of stuffy, but it doesn’t feel that way at all in san fran, where you’d rather walk than drive, and everything you need on a daily basis (grocery stores, pharmacy, coffee shops) is just a few blocks away. its really nice to be able to walk and get food. maybe this is more of a criticism of the valley that i live in. yes, thats right, the valley blows.

oh, thats right - i have a blog!

i guess it was inevitable that i would go months without posting.. i was on a pretty good clip from March ‘04, when i started this thing. Oh well.

LA has a new mayor. There was obviously plenty of publicity around the election, and it was a lead story in the newspapers and tv news, but I found it interesting that I never actually had a conversation with anybody about the election. It just never came up. This might say something about a city of transplants (at least the people I interact with), although it is clear that the mayor of this city has a direct impact on most people’s lives, including traffic issues and crime. Oh well. Out with Hahn (I still haven’t figured out what was so bad about him) and in with Valliagarosa.

I missed Coachella because I am a nerd. Wienie Roast (KROQ’s event) is tomorrow, which I’ll miss because it sold out in 10 minutes. Other than that - plenty of good shows coming up and i plan to be at a few of them.
